Integrally suppressed Gew 88
I am looking to take up the project of integrally suppressing my Turkish 88/05. The idea is to cut down the barrel to 18 inches and weld baffles into the barrel jacket, which would give me a narrow but decently long suppressor at about 10 or 11 inches. I would, of course, register it with the ATF. I will also need to look into handloading subsonic ammo. Before I do anything stupid, will someone tell me if this idea is good or bad and why? Thanks.

Re: Integrally suppressed Gew 88
For clarification: I am working on becoming a gunsmith, and so this would be good practice. Furthermore, I would like to have a quiet bolt action without spending a whole lot of money, and I already have this gun, and another one without a barrel jacket. Also, I would like to get a good amount of bullet weight with a subsonic velocity, and I know that ppu makes .323 projectiles as heavy as 200 grains. The question really is, is it doable, or am I going to get problems from this?

Hi do not know if it's doable or not but with these rifles you need to stay below or above subsonic
