Re: Gew88 Want To Sale Thread
Hi All - New member here. I am pleased to find a group so interested in these rifles.
I had a couple of bring back 88s passed down to me. One all matching in terrific shape (Amberg 1892), and another (Danzig 1890) suitable for parts scavenging as only barreled action has matching #s, (no bolt heads on either). If anyone is interested I can post pics and full write-ups.
Also have a '71 (OEWG 1875) in prime condition, a 71/84 (Spandau 1886) in so/so, and a Steyr M95 (1915?) (original long configuration) that was "fixed up" by someone along the line (not badly, but not a pro for sure). Not sure if any of these are of interest to this group, but worth a shot.
While I do find the history of these pioneering rifles very interesting, I simply do not collect military; only sporting long guns.
